Unibyte: Company History
In 1994 Eric Cooper, (founder of Unibyte Online Inc.), had a vision for a way of marketing products internationally using
the internet. Out of this vision Unibyte was born.
Since 1996 Unibyte has provided world-class, customer-focused Internet Solutions hosted on systems designed with both small
and medium business owners in mind. Between 1996 and 2001, Unibyte operated as an alliance partner with Boston-based Adgrafix
Corporation, developers of the first website manager.
After the sale of Adgrafix to Hosting.com, Unibyte moved to Victoria, BC, became incorporated, and launched several successful ventures, including
Flying Servers International, (now Silver Servers), UnibyteDomains.com, UnibyteOnline.com; and in partnership with Archieboy
Holdings, LLC., HostingFreaks.com, SupportFreaks.com, DesignFreaks.com, and over 25 hosting companies across North America
(HostSelect.info).
In February 2004, Owen Goward joined Unibyte Online Inc. as a Managing Partner after serving the company as a design contractor for two years. Owen has worked for some of the leading info-tech firms on Vancouver Island, including 2na Web Inc., and Navigata Communications Inc. During his experience at Navigata, he was able to gain experience being a lead contact for major client accounts such as Prospera Credit Union and BC Ferries employment division, and doing market research for Navigata projects such as managed hosting applications.
November 2004 brought Jamie Cooper who was appointed appointed Manager of Technical Services. Jamie has over 5 years experience implementing, managing, and designing network and hosting solutions. Previous experience includes Network Engineering and Administration, Project Management, Customer Service and Support. Jamie has a proven track record of excellence in technical support and management positions.
